The StarLux system
is designed for permanent hair removal, photofacials,
benign pigmented lesions (e.g solar lentigines, also
known as liver or age spots and actinic bronzing),
vascular lesions (e.g rosacea, facial spider veins)
and acne.
We all want clear skin, but nature has a way of sabotaging
us with frustrating imperfections. Luckily the Palomar
RejuveLux Process (which uses pulsed light to remove
skin imperfections) has been growing in leaps and
bounds.

| Any area, except directly on the
eyes. The face, neck, chest, arms, hands and legs.
For hair removal, we treat any area except directly
on the eye. The underarms, legs, back, bikine
line, face, neck, etc... |
| Palomar Pulsed Light Systems use a new technology
that removes lesions and hair up to ten times
faster and more effectively . |
| For example, in hair removal pulses of intense
light go into the hair follicle. The light is
absorbed by the pigment in the follicles and converted
to heat. The heat then loosens the hair and disables
the cells responsible for growing new hair. In
pigment the melanin absorbs the light, and in
veins, the hemoglobin absorbs the light. |
| A Photofacial can take care of multiple skin
problems at one time. The treatment is able to
effectively remove surface pigmented and vascular
lesions while stimulating new collagen formation
to smooth out the skin, improve skin texture,
reduce pore size and decrease the depth of mild
facial wrinkles. |
| Yes. Palomar StarLux delivers pulsed light over
one smooth pulse duration, rather than the multiple
power spikes (which may damage skin) that other
technologies use. This smooth pulse technology
keeps the epidermal temperature lower for more
comfortable treatments. Therefore allows for the
safe delivery of greater amounts of energy, which
is more effectively absorbed by the pigment and
blood. |
| Your treatment provider will move a wand-like
handpiece over your skin. Most people perceive
the light as a gentle "snapping" sensation
which causes little to no discomfort. |
| Most people experience some mild temporary pinkness
or redness and slight swelling, similar to a sunburn.
This does not interfere with normal activities
and usually subsides within a day. In some cases,
the redness may last longer, but will still be
mild and temporary. |
| For hair removal, the number of treatments depends
upon your skin type, hair coloring, coarseness
and density of the hair. It is impossible for
one treatment to permanently remove hair because
your hair grows in different stages. While individual
results may vary, it typically takes 3 to 6 treatments. |
